AVATEGU Lamp Care & Maintenance Guide

Last Updated: September 5, 2025

Thank you for choosing an AVATEGU lamp. Proper care will ensure your lamp remains a beautiful and functional part of your home for years to come. Please follow these general guidelines. For model-specific instructions, always refer to the manual included with your product.

1. General Cleaning

  • Always disconnect the lamp from the power outlet before cleaning.

  • Lampshades (Fabric/Paper): Use a soft, dry duster or a low-suction vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to remove dust gently. Avoid any moisture.

  • Lampshades (Glass/Metal/Plastic): Wipe with a soft, slightly damp (not wet) microfiber cloth. Dry immediately with a separate soft, dry cloth to prevent water spots.

  • Bases (All types): Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For tougher grime on non-porous surfaces (glass, metal, ceramic), use a mild soap solution and a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly.

2. Bulb Replacement

  • Always ensure the lamp is unplugged and the bulb is completely cool before attempting replacement.

  • Use only the bulb type and maximum wattage specified on the lamp's socket or in the user manual to prevent overheating and potential damage.

  • Handle bulbs carefully to avoid breakage. If a bulb breaks, unplug the lamp and carefully dispose of all glass fragments.

3. Electrical Safety

  • Inspect the power cord periodically for any signs of damage, such as fraying or cracking. If the cord is damaged, stop using the lamp immediately and contact us for advice.

  • Do not place lamps near open sources of water or in excessively humid environments unless they are specifically designed for such use.

  • Avoid pinching the cord behind furniture or running it under rugs where it can be damaged.

4. Specific Material Care

  • Wood: Dust with a dry, soft cloth. You may occasionally treat with a furniture polish suitable for the wood finish.

  • Brass/Metal: Polish with a specific metal cleaner to maintain shine. Some metals are designed to develop a patina over time; check your product details.

  • Marble/Stone: Wipe with a damp cloth. Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners that can etch the surface.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Lamp doesn't turn on: Ensure it's plugged in, the bulb is screwed in tightly, and the bulb is not burned out. Check your wall switch and power outlet with another device.

  • Flickering: Usually indicates a faulty bulb. Replace the bulb first. If the problem persists, the issue may be with the socket or plug.

  • Overheating: Ensure you are using a bulb with the correct wattage. Using a bulb with a higher wattage than recommended is a fire hazard.
